Are you a Data Engineer Specialist that is a specialist in developing algorithms and calculations that will help move PPG into the world of predictive analytics, AI, and machine learning?
In this role, you'll contribute to specific business projects applying machine learning, computer vision, sophisticated statistical analysis, data mining, optimization, and data visualization methods to drive product and service development that lie at the intersection of both digital and physical sciences! You will focus on existing products and processes, but may be involved in new initiatives, ultimately, you will be responsible for integrating data science into our everyday business culture! You will establish data science methods and tools that will be the foundation for our data science practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promotes data science and data management with business to raise awareness of technology, techniques, possibilities, and capabilities.
- Devising and applying advanced AI/ML models and algorithms to mine the stores of data.
- Evaluate AI/ML readiness and provide data acquisition recommendations to bridge gaps
- Employ Machine learning sub fields such as text mining / natural language processing, multivariate data analysis and clustering based models, use of Neural Networks in scientific fields including deep learning techniques, image processing & analysis, and multi-objective optimization
- Stay ahead of trends in applied machine-learning, computer vision and statistics.
- Collaborate with external partners to bring groundbreaking results to PPG operations.
- Work with global-team to translate innovative ideas into deployable digital products and services with quantifiable business impact.
Qualifications:
- BS in chemistry, physics, computer science, engineering, or equivalent.
- 5+ yrs of demonstrable proficiency in machine learning, with experience in unstructured/cognitive learning algorithms.
- Proficiency with Python required.
- Experience using data analysis techniques to tackle business related problems regardless of industry.
- Strong English oral and written communication skills, including technical writing is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MS in Data Science, Predictive Analytics, Machine Learning or applicable technical field of study.
- Experience with Matlab, R and/or other statistical programming languages applying the appropriate statistical procedures to problems.
- Experience with pioneering deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras or comparable technologies
- Six Sigma / sigma logic methodologies expertise (Yellow belt and above)
- Experience working with both structured and distributed data technologies ranging from SQL to Hadoop, Hive and Spark.
- Experience with agile development methodology.
