A Senior Data Scientist (12-month renewable contract) job has become available at a global financial services company, looking for an experienced Senior Data Scientist to join its Digital Excellence Centre.

About The Senior Data Scientist (12-month Renewable Contract) Role

As the Data Scientist, you will be involved in development of transversal AI/ML projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Use your expertise to support Project managers of different business lines and functions of the bank to work on their data science mission
• Design and implement AI semantic analysis use cases in response to the business operational problems
• Work on all stages of a AI project autonomously: opportunity study, scoping of the need, project definition and planning, monitoring and progress reporting and closely wok with various stakeholders
• Build necessary data processing pipelines, data visualisation tools as needed
• Liaise with business analysts for clarification and understanding of requirements
• Analyse technical constraints considering functional impacts with tech-lead/architect
• Organise and keep up-to-date detailed technical documentation
• Provide macro or detailed estimation for development of AI solutions
• Demonstrate autonomy and reliability in performing duties while maintaining close communication with the stakeholders

To succeed in this role as a Senior Data Scientist (12-month renewable contract), you must have five or more years of experience in NLP, Python, Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Key Requirements

• Undergraduate Degree in Computer Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering, or similar quantitative field is a must
• Post-Graduate Degree (Masters/ PhD) in Natural Language Processing with strong foundations in bi-LSTM, RNNs, BERT
• Experience in applied statistics including sampling approaches, experiments, modelling, and data mining
• Experience building analytical models and working with structured and unstructured data
• Experience in OCR and Image processing (Tesseract, OpenCV, Python PIL, scikit-image, etc.)
• Practical experience with Python
• Strong communication skills with a demonstrated ability to lead multiple teams/projects in parallel, reporting to senior executives
• Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
• Strategically focused, impact oriented, highly organised and adaptable
• Understanding and respect of cultural diversity
• Experience in MySQL, NoSQL DB (like MongoDB), Elastic search or Redis
• Knowledge in GPU Infrastructure, Linux and Windows servers
• Experience in DataIku or other analytics platform
• Financial markets knowledge
