Downhole Data Engineer - Sr. to Principal

• Roles & Responsibilities: Provide ultra-deep technical support for the in-bit data sensing product line to field operations.
• Provide expert-level analysis of downhole & surface data, combined with information from other data sources, e.g., bit dull condition, bit run information, lithology, surface operating parameters, and other application information to make best-in-class recommendations for optimizing drilling operations.
• Develop methods and algorithms for processing and interpreting high and low frequency downhole data.
• Utilize latest data analytical methods to derive new insights from the available data streams.
• Qualifications :
  • Experienced with programming and data analysis software, especially MATLAB, Spotfire, Python, etc.
  • Experience with drilling and/or bits preferred
  • Experience with advanced data analysis techniques a plus, e.g., Machine Learning
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  
  

• Skills acquired through the completion of a degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline. Minimum educational requirement of a master’s degree and zero years’ experience or bachelor’s degree and two or more years’ related experience. Mechanical Engineering degree with a preferred 5-10 years' experience in the Oil & Gas Drilling industry.
• Candidates having qualifications that exceed the minimum job requirements will receive consideration for higher level roles given (1) their experience, (2) additional job requirements, and/or (3) business needs. Depending on education, experience, and skill level, a variety of job opportunities might be available, including RD Mechanical Engineer, RD Senior Mechanical Engineer up to the RD Principal Mechanical Engineer.
