Our contract provides DOMEX exploitation capabilities that support the IC, DoD, Law Enforcement, and Homeland Security in the areas of Program Management, Operations and Integration, Intel Specialists, Intelligence Analysts, Collections Analysts, Media Analysts, Data Management/Science.

SAIC is seeking a Data Scientist with the business acumen to work in a highly collaborative team environment and abiliy to manage multiple competing priorities and assignments. The Data Scientist will provide timely Data Management support by working closely with all Center counterparts daily. Integrating the tools and data sources into the DOMEX process, incorporating automation wherever possible, as well as fault tolerance and data integrity validation to provide more efficient and effective access and exploitation of Centers data. We are seeking to hire someone with a passion for programming in support of Data Science. As a member of the Document and Media Exploitation (DOMEX) Data Science Team, you will help develop, update, and maintain tools for data discovery and advanced analytics, production databases leveraging a variety of disparate data sources, and visualizations and dashboards for subject-specific DOMEX data of interest. In this position you will be recognized for what you develop and your impact on the teams you support. You will expand your knowledge and skills across multiple programming languages and software packages. This is a great opportunity to get a CI polygraph if you have a current TS/SCI!

Responsibilities include
  • Critically look at a problem set and develop solutions within the framework of the general needs of the center. Test out those potential solutions and report back the findings and viability.
  • Examine ways to more closely integrate Media Management collection content with the Centers database to improve exploitation and reporting.
  • Perform metrics reporting through coordinating with Media Management to develop, integrate, and automate methods and tools to collect, maintain, disseminate, and report daily, weekly, monthly, and on-demand metrics and analytical reports associated with Media Management activities
  • Using Open Source Software (OSS), Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS), and Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) tools for media validation, cataloging, metrics reporting and dissemination, media prioritization, and exploitation, forgoing any original development of software. Make recommendations for the acquisition of appropriate tools that support these requirements.
  • Performing dynamic reporting, using the OSS, COTS, and GOTS tools implemented for the tasks to dynamically fine-tune or otherwise adjust parameters to respond to customer requirements for tracking, processing, exploitation, analysis, and accounting of acquired media and Center reporting.
  • Performing Executive Dashboard updates, working to develop, integrate, and automate as appropriate the methods and tools used to provide on-demand metrics, analytical reports, and media processing status associated with Media Management activities
Qualifications
  • TS/SCI with CI Poly
  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience, within a related field
  • Three to seven years of relevant experience
    • Experience with big data, including processes for exploratory data analysis, information discovery, machine learning, and advanced analytic algorithms
    • Experience with any of the following version control repositories Git, SVN, Mercurial
    • Experience working with relational databases, including writing complex queries and stored procedures using any of the following SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL
    • Experience creating data visualizations or dashboards using relational and aggregate data sources, including experience working with any of the following Tableau, matplotlib, D3.js
    • Solid knowledge/experience with Python and data analysis libraries pandas, numpy, scipy, scikit-learn, PyTorch/Keras/Tensorflow
    • Solid knowledge/experience with Python, and preferably at least one of the following languages Java, C/C++, C#, or R
    • Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) tools/libraries gensim, spaCy, NLTK, fasttext
