Primary Responsibilities:

• Support Payment Integrity team members with development, implementation and maintenance of operational reports and dashboards; ensuring resources are accurate, up-to-date, and can be analyzed to reveal critical insights applicable to strategic initiatives
• Produce detailed savings and performance analytics for Payment Integrity programs and pillars
• Extract critical and pertinent information from the data sets that help the stakeholders understand optimal outcomes
• Effectively process and integrate primary and/or secondary data sources using database warehouse and visual applications
• Develop effective quality control processes to ensure data integrity
• Utilize data analytics to uncover critical business insights and findings
• Process the aptitude to quickly learn software platforms such as MS SQL Server, Tableau, and other BI tools
• Ad hoc support for stakeholders and Payment Integrity needs

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or 4+ years of additional experience in addition to what is required in lieu of degree
• 2+ years of database experience and ability to effectively map data, as well as run basic SQL queries to analyze large complex data sets and troubleshoot
• 2+ years of experience working in the health insurance industry; with knowledge of health insurance claims and various payment methodologies
• Proficiency in SQL and developing efficient, well performing queries
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Office suite of applications
• Advanced Excel experience (creating pivot tables, writing functions, and formulas)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities with special attention to accuracy and detail
• If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with federal healthcare contracts
• Prior experience working with outside vendors and/or clients
• Working knowledge of visualization and discovery tools, such as Tableau, SQL Server
• Solid written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate results of data analysis to a variety of stakeholders
• Previous experience working with Fraud, Waste and Abuse (FWA) data, or within a SIU (Special Investigations Unit)

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $64,800 to $116,000.
