Azure Data Engineer

We seeking an Azure Data Engineer for a contract initially running through till end of June 2021 based in Brisbane CBD.

This project is seeking to establish a contemporary and modern enterprise Data-at-rest service that enables business units to access Services like a Data Lake and Business intelligence reporting, utilising the most modern approaches currently available.

The successful candidate will:

• Work with various Business Units to understand their project support requirements across Microsoft Azure and Power BI technologies.
• Work with Project Teams for business and technical handovers.
• Work with other support staff and teams to appropriately prioritise support requests and incidents.
• Provision and configure effective Azure environments including resource creation and maintenance, platform security, and database management services.
• Conduct issue triage and investigation across the BI stack.
• Develop ETL bug fixes using Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake v2 and metadata-driven SQL automated loaders.
• Develop Power BI bug fixes and adjustments for interactive dashboards.
• Update and maintain the Quality Assurance framework to ensure data quality, integrity, and lineage across the existing BI solutions.
• Undertake unit testing of all fix developments.
• Utilise Azure DevOps for CI/CD across environment and platform deployments.
• Manage Production deployments across the Azure and Power BI platforms.

To be successful, you will have:

• Demonstrated extensive experience working with Azure data solutions and supporting environments involving Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake v2 and Power BI.
• Demonstrated experience in data warehouse design, implementation, maintenance and incident management
• Demonstrated experience in in Microsoft Power BI governance, administration, support and maintenance.
• Demonstrated experience in working as part of a team maintaining and supporting a wide range of platforms in Azure Cloud.
• Demonstrated experience in managing deployment releases using Azure DevOps.
• Demonstrated experience in working with project teams to ensure knowledge transfer and the sustainability of project documentation for support and maintenance purposes
