The Reuters News technology team supports Reuters’ journalists throughout the News production lifecycle - from discovery of newsworthy events to researching the story to publication, and all that at the speed of light in an increasingly competitive landscape. About The Role
As a Sr. Data Engineer joining our team, you will be responsible to:
- Design and Develop data warehousing functionality including the use and management of Snowflake data warehouse, pipelines and monitoring, in partnership with Data Analysts and Architects.
- Design and Develop migration of data warehouses and reports from SQL Server ecosystem to Snowflake and PowerBI.
- Innovate with new approaches to meeting data management requirements for Reuters Data Platform. Make recommendations about platform adoption, including technology integrations, application servers, libraries, and frameworks.
- Partner across the company with analytics teams, engineering managers, architecture teams and data scientists to design and agree on solutions that meet business requirements.
- Effectively communicate and liaise with other data management teams embedded across the organization and data consumers in data science and business analytic groups.
About You
You’re a fit for the role of Sr. Data Engineer if your background includes:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering or related field of study, or equivalent experience
- 5+ yrs in database/data warehousing/ETL/BI software stack development.
- In-depth experience with:
- Data warehousing, analysis and reporting technologies like SQL Server Analysis Services, Reporting Services, Tableau, Power BI, Qlik.
- ETL looks like AWS Glue, integrate.io, Talend, SQL Server Integration Services
- Relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle)
Desired:
- Hands-on experience working with AWS ecosystem
- Hands-on experience with modern data warehouses like Snowflake, Redshift, Google BigQuery.
