Cloud Data Engineer

How You Will Spend Your Day:

Design and develop high-performance, resilient, automated data pipelines, and data transformation applications that feed our cloud-based Enterprise Data Platform. Partner with business users, senior architects, and infrastructure engineers to form complete end-to end-solutions.

• Design and build extensible data acquisition and integration solutions to meet the functional and non-functional requirements of the business
• Design and implement best-in-class data ingestion strategies and scalable pipelines, data warehouse and data mart structures in the Snowflake data platform
• Build and maintain serverless data ingestion & refresh pipelines using Azure cloud services – Azure Data Factory, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Azure Streaming Analytics, Azure Event Hubs, and Azure Databricks
• Incorporate new data sources from external vendors using streams, flat files, APIs, and databases
• Plan & execute using agile methodologies, developing & delivering within predefined sprints
• Develop real-time / near real-time data ingestion solutions from web API, Kafka, and Event Based technologies
• Develop metadata-driven integration pipelines and data structures and continuing to enhance our data lineage framework

The Skills and Experience You Bring:

• Deep implementation experience with building data solutions in the Snowflake platform and the DevOps process associated with code management and migration
• Advanced experience with data modeling, table design and mapping business needs to modern data structures and data management best practices
• Designing, building, and optimizing data integration architectures across batch, near real-time, and streaming integration requirements
• Implementation experience with data pipelines that leverage Azure Data Integration Products (Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Azure Data Factory, Streaming Analytics, Event Hub) and the Snowflake's Snowpipe technology
• Broad experience with data management technologies that will enable matching the right technologies to the required schemas and workloads.
• Eager to explore how machine learning and artificial intelligence can support business objectives
• Ability to succeed in a fast paced, matrix structured environment
• Implementation Experience with Data Warehousing (data lakes, operational data stores, integration hubs, etc.) and OLTP database management systems
• Working knowledge of:
• Azure Gen2 Data Lake
• Microsoft SQL Server
• Python, R and/or similar analytical languages
• Power BI reporting applications
• Developing software code in one or more programming languages (Java, Python, etc.)
• Understanding of Restful Web services / Microservices architectures
