Posizione:

As a Data Engineer in NHOA Energy you will play a pivotal role in architecting, expanding, and optimizing our existing data infrastructure and data pipeline architecture. Your responsibilities encompass designing robust data transfer mechanisms from plant OT systems to cloud databases ensuring seamless integration with cloud platforms and algorithms leveraging encryption protocols and cybersecurity best practices. You will be responsible to managing multiple data formats and data sources and working with big data analytics to extract value from the data. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will model and deploy complex machine learning models. Your expertise in cloud infrastructure, data governance, and DevOps practices will be vital in maintaining data security and optimizing data lakes for efficient analytics. Your role lies at the intersection of data engineering, cloud architecture, and DevOps, driving the evolution and efficiency of data-driven processes. You'll closely collaborate with the group head, control engineering, and data science teams.

Task and duties:

Data Pipelines - Integration, automation, testing & monitoring:

  • Architect, develop, maintain, implement and automate robust data pipelines for handling high volumes of data from plant OT systems to cloud data bases;
  • Streamline and automate processes, enabling continuous integration and deployment of data pipelines and applications handling Big Data leveraging encryption protocols and cybersecurity best practices;
  • Test reliability and performance of the existing and new data pipelines, monitoring and tracking pipeline stability and updating them based on new requirements;
  • Develop custom data flows for multiple formats, sources, storage types, optimizing data transfer via encrypted methodologies and storage solutions for scalability taking cost-effective decisions;
  • Setup monitoring systems (Grafana) to track and monitor data pipeline performance, resource utilization and system health.

Data Lakes:

  • Architect and manage data lakes, optimizing them for efficient data retrieval and analysis workflows.

ML & MLOps:

  • Collaborate with the data science team to build complex algorithm and deploy and manage ML models in production environments.

Data Governance & Security:

  • Implement robust data governance practices, ensuring compliance, data quality and privacy standards;
  • Deploy security measures to safeguard data at rest and in transit to and from the AWS environments.

Cloud Infrastructure:

  • Contribute to the design and management of the cloud infrastructure focusing on scalability and reliability with hands on experience in IaC tools;
  • Model FE and BE data sources alimenting our digital platform;
  • Create KT videos and maintain documentation.

Requisiti:

Technical Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent with work experience (4+ years);
  • Strong skills in Python and JavaScript for data manipulation and application development;
  • Working knowledge of data warehousing and ETL tools, adept at handling both relational and NoSQL databases;
  • Proficiency in big data technologies like Hadoop, Kafka, Spark with hands on experience;
  • Proven track record designing and implementing complex data pipelines;
  • Working experience with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch), deploying, and maintaining ML models in production;
  • Experience in AWS services like Redshift, RDS, EMR, EC2, S3;
  • Hands on experience in IaC tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation;
  • Knowledge of VPN configurations, certificate management, communication protocols and AWS Gateway services;
  • Experience with data transformation tools and building data visualization dashboards;
  • Hands-on experience with Docker & Kubernetes for containerization, understanding DevOps principles;
  • Prior involvement in establishing data governance and security frameworks;
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, Git.

Nice to have:

  • Advanced analytics dashboards;
  • Data engineer and/or cloud certifications;
  • Basic knowledge of power systems and power electronics principles and components is appreciated.
