Salary range: $120,859- $133,183 + Superannuation

Within DCS Fair Trading, Policy & Delivery, the Long Service Corporation (LSC) manages building and construction industry and contract cleaning industry portable long service schemes. We are based in Gosford and currently have a team of around 120 dedicated staff focused on improving our customers' experience.

About the role

This role is an exciting opportunity to work in our Digital Experience team. You will be responsible for managing a program of work that investigates, extracts, and integrates, complex and diverse data sets to transform into meaningful insights. You will communicate these insights to non-technical stakeholders. As a Data Scientist, you will use programming languages, machine learning workflows and coding tools to embed insights into business applications, dashboards, and reports. You will work with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, bringing your extensive performance and insights experience and your ability to engage, influence and negotiate successful outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Lead data analysis and modelling to provide evidence based actionable insights to support informed decision making
  • Develop a data management plan to meet current and future needs of the business
  • Map business metrics and performance measures across LSC
  • Influencing and negotiating with stakeholders
  • Develop and run ad-hoc research programs and trends analysis
  • Provide recommendations to optimise scheme functionality, improve customer experience, identify usability issues and support prioritisation of the digital roadmap including backlog items, defect fixes and enhancements.

About you

  • Degree qualification in a relevant field, accompanied by proven expertise in a related role
  • Experience using statistical software for data analysis
  • Experience in API gateway, integrations with business intelligence tools including Power BI, Tableau, Salesforce, GA4
  • Proven experience in distilling multi-source data, into actionable insights and distributing findings in written report/presentation
  • Well-developed research and analytical skills, with an ability to use tools and integrated UI applications to visually present findings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with stakeholders to design data and reporting frameworks, processes and procedures
  • Experience in the preparation of high level reports and other documents and the ability to translate technical and complex information concisely for diverse audiences
