We are seeking a Lead Google Cloud Platform Data Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience developing and maintaining GCP Dataflow jobs, creating objects in BigQuery, and contributing to SDLC processes through GitHub actions. The ideal candidate will have experience in Java/Scala and a strong background in GCP services within the Financial Services industry, such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, and Cloud Composer. This person will be responsible for analysing and improving existing systems, services, and infrastructure, as well as developing and integrating new functionality in close collaboration with the development team from the client side. The Lead Google Cloud Platform Data Engineer must be able to communicate effectively with customers on a daily basis and follow standards, best practices, and guides.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain GCP Dataflow jobs
• Create different objects in BigQuery utilizing requirements
• Create DAG Templates
• Contribute to SDLC processes through GitHub actions
• Create firewall rules for different components
• Create secrets for different integrations
• Review code from other team members
• Analyze and improve existing systems, services, and infrastructure
• Develop and integrate new functionality in close collaboration with the development team from the client side
• Follow standards, best practices, and guides
• Communicate with customers on a daily basis
• Request different services or permissions from Central Cloud Engineering team through establish process in JIRA

Requirements

• Experience in financial services before
• 7+ years of experience working with data products on GCP such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, and Cloud Composer
• Experience in Java/Scala
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Good business acumen
• English level B2+
• 1+ year leadership experience
