Overview of the Role

We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist to join our growing Data Science team in Belfast. The Data Science team provides subject matter expertise to customers and prospects, communicating concepts to technical and non-technical audiences alike, and working with the engineering team based in Belfast to architect and deliver solutions to problems. Our ideal team member will have the mathematical and statistical expertise you’d expect and a natural curiosity and creative mind.

Ideal Attributes

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline demonstrating statistical and mathematical literacy
• 3+ years experience in data science
• Proficiency with data mining, model building, and statistical analysis
• Advanced pattern recognition and predictive modeling experience
• Experience working in some relevant programming language (Java/Python, R, SAS etc), fluency in standard business tools like Excel, PowerPoint, SQL etc
• Comfort working in a dynamic, research-oriented group with several ongoing concurrent projects
• Ability to communicate goals, methods and results to a range of audiences.
• Demonstrable ability to engage with complex datasets and design analyses that extract useful insights.
• A record of taking these designs and delivering models/analytics/other outputs to production standard.
• Familiarity with cloud computing, particularly AWS: S3, EC2, Snowflake, Sagemaker, Databricks etc.
• Experience with some basic machine learning techniques: scikit-learn tools, simple classifiers & clustering, logistic regression, gaussian processes etc.
• Experience with more advanced ML: Deep learning, tensorflow, keras, pytorch, LSTM, CNNs, RNNs, GANs etc.
• Graph databases, knowledge graphs & graph neural networks.
• Geospatial data: ArcGIS, geopy etc.
• Image processing and visual pattern recognition.

Other Relevant Details

• Desired Locations: The core of our engineering team is in Belfast, UK, and remains the preferred location. Would consider other locations for outstanding candidates but you must have a great internet connection and be willing to overlap both UK & US east coast times as needed.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%
