You will be utilizing your application development knowledge and expertise in big data, software engineering, data warehousing and cloud computing to solve interesting business problems. The team you will be part of develops and implements data pipelines and strategic data analytics products and services to drive quality business decisions. You will have the opportunity to learn emerging trends in data & analytics techniques/technologies to come up with innovative ideas to meet rapidly evolving business needs.

The position requires ongoing interactions with business stakeholders to understand and stay focused on business goals while developing meaningful data and analytics solutions in a collaborative and iterative manner. It will facilitate gaining a deeper understanding of business problems and data and becoming a subject matter expert in different business domain areas, in addition to your technical expertise area. You will solve complex and interesting business problems in a challenging and inspiring environment.

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • At least 3 - 5 years of experience in big data processing.
  • Expert level ETL experience (3+ years) using Big Data technologies/tools like Apache Spark or Hadoop (HDFS, Hive, Map-reduce, ..) or others
  • Expert level programming skills (3+ years) in at least one major language such as Python, Scala, Java, C++ with proven experience in developing and deploying ETL pipelines.
  • Expert level experience in SQL (5+ years) with multiple successful projects using any RDBMS (database/data warehouse) such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, MY-SQL, MS-SQL Server, Teradata, Azure Data Warehouse or AWS Redshift or Snowflake etc.
  • 2 years of experience in handling at least one or more of these different file formats like CSV, TEXT, JSON, Parquet, Avro, ORC, YAML or similar.
  • 2 years of experience with UNIX/Linux operating system commands and shell scripting (like bash, ksh or csh) with application to successful projects.
  • 1 years of experience in RESTful APIs.
Preferred
  • 1 year of experience in AZURE cloud with working knowledge in Databricks, Azure Data Factory and BLOB storage.
  • Familiar with processing and analyzing paid media data like advertisements on TV & social media data and customer journey analysis.
  • 1 year of experience in streaming technologies like Apache Kafka or Spark Streaming or Apache Storm or Apache Flink or any cloud-based streaming.
  • 1 years of experience in data visualization tools like R-Studio based shiny, D3 and Node.js etc.
  • Hands on experience in applying A/B testing, time-series analysis, and machine learning algorithms like Linear/Non-Linear regression, Logistic Regression, K-Means Clustering, and Random Forests etc.
  • 1 year experience in NoSQL databases like HBase, Dynamo DB, Cosmos DB, MongoDB or Cassandra.
  • Familiarity with general cloud technologies (AWS or Microsoft Azure or Google cloud)
  • Work collaboratively with team of engineers and analysts to come up with innovative and effective data ingestion and storage strategies.
  • Be developing real time and batch reliable, scalable, and highly available data pipelines from different sources and entities like third party RESTful API and databases.
  • Use agile methodologies for development and implementation.
  • Work with platform support team to design, develop, test, and implement end to end data pipeline.
  • Utilize programming languages like Python, Scala, and Java. Apache Spark, Hadoop, Cloud based streaming, data warehousing such as Snowflake or Azure Data Warehouse, NoSQL databases and visualization tools. Open-source data bases like PostgreSQL.
  • Learn latest technologies, looking curiously for newest technology trends and rapid prototyping of proof-of-concept applications to meet the business needs.
  • Collaborate with different domain experts, data users and managers/directors to understand the business problem and come up with robust data engineering solution.
  • Explore, understand, define, and analyze data to come up with meaningful insights to help improve the business decisions.
  • Identify potential data processes that can be improved with automation.
  • Participate in data engineering related training, forums, summits, conferences, and certifications.
  • Perform code reviews. Come up with framework for unit, integration, and end to end testing. Follow coding standards, optimize the application performance, and follow the latest security guidelines.
  • Mentor junior data engineers and application developers.

  • Able to translate abstract and partially defined business requirements into meaningful data analytics solutions (data products and services) that would help provide insights for quality business decisions.
