Key Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Intermediate Data Engineer with a background in database administration, particularly in AWS. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in implementing CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to support our data infrastructure while maintaining a focus on continuous improvement and automation.
Skills Knowledge And Expertise
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proficiency in managing databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Understanding of CI/CD principles and experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).
- SQL experience and familiarity with query optimisation.
- Ability to promptly investigate and resolve database performance issues, minimising downtime, and disruptions.
- Eagerness to research and introduce new products and tools, sharing knowledge within the team.
- Competence in planning and undertaking database tasks such as upgrades, migrations, and modernisation.
- Confidence in providing technical knowledge transfer to the team.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving and analytical skills.
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Database - Specialty) are a plus.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
