Data Analyst

BioPharma R&D Publications Operations are looking for a skilled Data Analyst to lead our publications data transformation, modelling, automation and management activities and leverage data visualization tools for business reporting and evidence-based decision making.

Working closely with the Publications Leadership Team, the Data Analyst key responsibilities will be:

• Executing and driving the delivery of publications data roadmap to optimally utilize relevant data and support decision-making
• Providing the conceptualization and designing of innovative data transformation, modelling, automation and analysis solutions for a variety of data science and data management challenges
• Performing key data management activities within established frameworks, ensuring quality and comprehensive documentation of technical solutions and reporting specifications
• Collaborating with local and global stakeholders to advise on information exploitation, integration, processes and innovative technologies, that are essential for decision-making
• Proactively participating in knowledge sharing and peer support to enhance expertise in the data, tools (including programming and process automation as appropriate) and techniques essential to data science and management
• Building knowledge and expertise of the pharmaceutical industry and trends to promote optimised utilisation of data, information and knowledge
• Designing and developing intuitive, user-friendly dashboards that enable users to understand and interact with complex data easily, thereby facilitating data-driven decisions
  
  
  

Minimum requirements:

• BSc in a Life Science, Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Proficiency with modern analysis tools and techniques
• Strong Experience in data visualization
• Strong experience in designing and implementing star schemas in Power BI
• Ability to create fact and dimension tables, ensuring optimal performance and query efficiency.
• Proficiency in normalizing data and creating relationships between tables to support robust analytical reporting
• Excellent communication and time management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively to meet objectives
• Practical experience with M, DAX, SQL and VBA
• Knowledge of UI/UX design principles for creating clear and engaging data visualizations (storytelling with data)
  
  
  

Desirable:

• Experience within the pharmaceutical industry
• Familiarity with research and/or clinically relevant public and commercial data assets
• Proficiency in iterative (agile) tool development projects
• Technical computer skills in scripting (e.g. Python, R), and application languages (e.g. C/C++, C#, Java )
• Experience of data management platforms (RDBMS, Graph and semantic web)
