Intent HQ's mission is to help organisations have more genuine relationships with their customers by using data and machine learning to understand them on a human level. We're a well-funded scale-up business, having raised £30m from several notable PE investors.

We've had an initial focus in the telecommunications sector, landing some of the world's leading telecommunications brands including O2 in the UK, and Verizon in the US.

Our clients typically have tens of millions of customers and billions of interaction events each day. We developed our customer analytics platform to make it quick and simple for analysts to interact with this data, even at such enormous scale, and integrate the insights into their sales, marketing and customer care teams. One client has seen £26m additional annual revenue growth as a result of Intent HQ.

The Intent HQ platform is unique because we've focused on understanding and processing this interaction data. We do the hard-specialised work leaving our clients free to focus on integrating the insight into their business.

The Opportunity

The Role

As a part of your role, we would expect you to be able to:

• Design and build new data applications using our core data platform and pipelines that help solve specific client problems
• Work closely with our platform team to enhance our existing models and techniques in a way that will drive maximum value for our clients. This could include enhancing our existing data enrichment technique and/or creating entirely new kinds of data enrichment that add value to customer profiles (feature embeddings, recommender systems, propensity models etc)
• Define metrics for assessing the quality of the data we produce
• Implement validation frameworks and methodologies to regularly measure our data against these metrics

About You

Generally, we would expect you to present with:

• Comfortable interacting with clients
• Strong empathy and communication skills
• Very bright people who are pragmatic and get things done
• Adaptability - for example, a varied technological background
• Strong interest in technology and problem solving - evidence of working on own projects a bonus - (e.g. contributing to open source repos, github)
• Driven by curiosity, tempered by scepticism. Searching for hidden insights, but always wary of bias and error
• Agile approach to solving problems - client first mentality, being pragmatic, importance of doing (tested) baby steps to grow your product.

Technically, we would need you to present with the following skills and experience:

Must haves:

• Experience with at least one programming language, preferably Scala or Python
• A solid foundation in statistical modelling and computing
• Experience modelling 1st party customer data (B2C customer analytics)

Nice to haves:

Experience with:

• Spark / MapReduce
• NLP
• Bayesian modelling
• Information retrieval
