Seeking data scientist contractor, ~900 hours/year, off-site/remote work is acceptable.

Required - Secret Clearance

Part Time.

Hourly Pay: $50 per hour with benefits

We have an open contractor position in the NRL-MRY global modeling section for a data scientist with expertise in machine learning / artificial intelligence (ML/AI) for a new project that seeks to develop a four-dimensional (4D) statistically post-processed forecast field of global cloud cover. The position will be half-time (~900 hours/year) and off-site/remote work is acceptable. Applicants should have a university degree in one of these disciplines: data science, computer science, statistics, or meteorology. A master’s degree is preferred, but candidates with bachelor’s degrees will also be considered. Experience with Python is required (including Pandas), and experience with parallel/distributed programming (e.g., dask, mpi4py) is preferred but not required. U.S. citizenship is required
