Overview:
We are seeking a staff Nuclear Energy Data Engineer who will focus on developing and applying data science and machine learning technologies for nuclear energy applications. This position resides in the Modern Nuclear Instrumentation and Control (MNIC) group in the Nuclear Energy and Fuel Cycle Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). As part of our research team, you will work to advance the field of knowledge in machine learning and data science, develop and qualify new related technologies, and apply them to advance nuclear energy. Our team members have the opportunity to work collaboratively with diverse subject matter experts from across the laboratory to solve challenging and important problems related to development, construction and operation of nuclear energy technologies, other carbon-free energy technologies, and ORNL scientific facilities. MNIC staff are expected to perform work consistent with Environment, Safety, Security, Health, and Quality (ESH&Q) requirements and business rules.
