Our Health & Public Service practice in BeLux is looking for Data Engineer to join the team and help to further expand our footprint at European Union institutions and agencies.

Your job

As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible of:

  • Design, build and operationalize large scale enterprise data solutions and applications using one or more of AWS data and analytics services in combination with 3rd parties - Spark, EMR, DynamoDB, RedShift, Kinesis, Lambda, Glue

  • Analyze, re-architect and re-platform on-premise data warehouses to data platforms on AWS cloud using AWS or 3rd party services.

  • Design and build production data pipelines from ingestion to consumption within a big data architecture, using Java, Python, Scala.

  • Design and implement data engineering, ingestion and curation functions on AWS cloud using AWS native or custom programming.

  • Perform detail assessments of current state data platforms and create an appropriate transition path to AWS cloud.

  • Optimize data systems and build these from scratch.

  • Support software developers, database architects, data analysts and data scientists on data initiatives.

  • Ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects.

  • Throughout the blueprint process engage in the development of defense strategies, combining technology and user behavior, to ensure the security of your client

  • Work closely alongside the client and internal teams of professionals to develop innovative solutions based on their roadmaps, through mediums such as robotics and artificial intelligence.


Your background:

  • A Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science

  • Between 2-6 years working experience

  • Has experience in any of the following AWS Athena and Glue Pyspark, EMR, DynamoDB, Redshift, Kinesis, Lambda, Snowflake

  • Proficient in AWS Redshift, S3, Glue, Athena, DynamoDB

  • An aspiration to fulfill a role as an Expert/Architect on leading technical projects.

  • Preferably has an AWS Big Data Engineer certification or has obtained similar in cloud solution

  • Preferred experience: Java or Python

  • An excellent communicator and good personal skills

  • Internal/external advisory/consulting experience

  • Demonstrated client management and relationship skills

  • Fluent in English
