Data Analyst, Assistant Vice President

As a data analyst to agile teams, work closely with the Boston based business users and IT teams to analyse data, define functional specifications, maintain documentation, organize product backlog and iteration stories for ERM Global Markets Risk applications.

This role can be performed in a hybrid model, where you can balance work from home and office to match your needs and role requirements.

As a Data Analyst you will

• Ability to work with business users and IT to define functional specifications and Prioritize stories based on product roadmap
• Work with the business and development teams to define requirements, product backlog and documentation
• Ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications
• Experience in handling large data sets and relational databases
• Work with SQA and Development teams on delivery of fixes and enhancements
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly and efficiently
• Ability to query database to analyze data using Python/SQL queries and write the functional specification documentation in Jupyter Notebook
• Excellent communication skills and ability to gather and understand requirements in the financial sector
• Ability to work on multiple initiatives simultaneously and run meetings/workshops to explain and walk through business needs
• Provide post production support and maintenance
• Liaise with scrum masters, business/systems analysts and software engineers to assist in resolving systems issues.
• Participate in daily stand ups, iteration planning, product demos and retrospective meetings
• Works with and contributes toward company-wide established goals & objectives

• 5 years of industry experience as a business/data analyst.
• Knowledge of Agile and Project Management methodologies
• Experience working in SQL database and Jupyter Notebook

Education & Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor degree with experience in data analysis and exposure to financial mathematics
• 5 years of work experience
• Ability to work in a matrixed organization
• Ability to solve problems creatively, multi-task and fast learner

Additional Requirements

• Experience in Financial Risk & Regulatory and Investment banking
• Experience in Financial Data Centric Applications
• Experience with database development and ability to write complex SQL Queries
• Experience with ORACLE and Database management tools
• Knowledge on tools like SQL developer, Toad, Putty, WinSCP.
• Excellent communication and team management skills
• Able to develop strong relationship with the Business and IT Agile teams
• Knowledge on financial instruments, risk data/processes is a plus

Salary Range

$80,000 - $132,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
