We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our growing Payments Analytics team, focused on using data insights to identify and drive optimisation opportunities. As part of the Payments team, you will help shape and deliver our global Payments Analytics strategy.
You will work with a distributed team of world-class analysts, data scientists, business managers, product managers and engineers. We are all passionate about what we do and move forward with high impact projects at a high pace. Learning and improving is part of our daily routine, and you will be free to develop your skills and ways of working.
What You'll Do
Develop in depth knowledge of Spotify’s data sources and payment systems to gain insights into payments performance and contribute to the analytics strategy.
Work closely with our Engineering, Product and Insights teams to craft data pipelines and datasets to empower flexible analysis of payments performance.
Define metrics and KPIs to track payments performance, keeping the Payments team informed with data-driven research on optimisation initiatives and challenges.
Work from anywhere in EMEA, with occasional travel to our offices in London, Stockholm and New York.
Who You Are
3+ years experience in a data science role, preferably in at least one e-commerce or payments organisation.
A Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or another quantitative field.
You have technical competence to perform advanced analytics: coding skills for analytics and data extraction (such as SQL, Python, Pandas, R) to distil insights and statistical analysis skills to tease out patterns from noise.
Experience with a dashboard visualisation tool such as Tableau, Looker, Google Data Studio or similar.
An independent thinker, able to work autonomously, capable of taking on loosely defined problems and translating complex thinking into practical application for diverse audiences.
You effectively communicate with a wide range of cross-functional partners: you able to both explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders and have technical discussions with engineers
