What you will be doing as our Data scientist

You will be part of a diverse Data science team that is fun to work in. The team has a passion to challenge each other’s work and continuously improve our way of working. Our vision is that algorithms enable CarNext to scale its business to serve customers better.

As a Data Scientist, with your team you deliver successfully on 3-month end-to-end analytical projects, creating business value through analysis and algorithms. You translate the business challenges to concrete, analysable hypotheses and help with data science development of a project to support one of our business value streams. You work in a cross-functional team with a product owner, data scientists, data engineer, and business delegates.

Responsibilities

• Break down problems into smaller pieces and translates into a plan. Execute the plan to validate hypotheses with data, and to build a business narrative based on the findings.

• Communicate difficult concepts.

• Focuses on narratives and proactive insights that help drive prioritization. Propose solutions to make trade-offs between time invested and business value.

• Hands-on responsible for analysing, developing, testing, and maintaining algorithms and demonstrates to create business impact.

• Responsible for algorithm deployment into business applications.

Which skills and experience should you have to be successful in this position?

• 3+ years of working experience in a Data Scientist role

• Statistics knowledge, and applied Machine learning knowledge for structured data

• Solid programming skills in Python, SQL

• Working experience with cloud services (ideally AWS)

• Excellent problem-solving skills

• Proven business sense

• MSc in quantitative field, ideally Mathematics or Engineering (no computer science).
