Senior Data Engineer (m/f/d)

What We're Looking For

• You have 5+ years of work experience with data pipelines, streaming data sets, ETL packages, and data modelling.
• You have excellent skills in writing and optimising SQL.
• You bring knowledge of AWS Infrastructure, AWS Lambda, S3, Redshift, and Pentaho, or similar coding skills using Java, Python, or similar.
• Dimensional models/star schemas to meet analytics requirements are not new to you.
• You have experience of the Agile software development lifecycle and DevOps delivery, including source control management, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery/Deployment and automated testing.
• You have the ability to gather requirements and translate these to technical requirements.
• You bring very effective communication skills in English. Ability to collaborate with colleagues with and without technical expertise.
  
  

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• You will work with Data Services colleagues to ensure that modifications to the system and software architecture through project delivery are appropriate for operations, scalability, security, performance, deployment and maintenance.
• You will take business requirements to design, document, build and deploy effective data pipelines and ETL solutions.
• You participate in team refinement sessions and contribute to agile approach and practices.
• You ensure script, configuration and code quality and efficiency is appropriate and improved upon, as well as technical standards and best practice guidelines are adhered to within the Engineering teams through peer reviews, testing, and feedback.
• You promote a strong culture of continuous improvement to increase efficiency, quality and reduction in development lead time (from analysis to production release) .
• You will help to provide 2nd and 3rd line support for the data platform.
• You will mentor relevant colleagues to ensure data platform knowledge is shared throughout the business.
