Senior Data Scientist

Job Location: This role can be done from our offices in Cary, NC or remotely within the USA.

Role Value Proposition:

The central Data and Analytics Center of Excellence team at MetLife is seeking a full-stack senior data scientist. The role of this position will be to employ predictive modeling and statistical analysis to build analytical solutions in support of decision-based processes at MetLife, and to participate in research and development initiatives in the fields of computational statistics and computer science with application to solving pain points of the MetLife business. As a data scientist in a global division, you will additionally collaborate with regional ad local teams, creating best practices for common analytical projects, and delivering value across the company.

• Deliver cutting edge approaches through first-of-a-kind solutions to transform our decision processes.
• Consult with internal stakeholders to understand their analytic needs
• Build collaboration and awareness in global analytics community
• Develop associate data scientist talent and advise on current project work.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

• Master’s or Doctorate degree in quantitative field (Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Operations Research, Physics, etc.)
• 2+ years of experience as data scientist, statistician, or quantitative researcher
• Expert level R or Python (numpy, pandas, scikit-learn) programming
• Hands-on experience with machine learning and big data technologies within Microsoft Azure (Azure Machine Learning, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, etc.)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
