Machine Learning Engineer / MLOps (m/f/d) 80-100%

To strengthen our Research & Development team, we are looking for an experienced Machine Learning Engineer / MLOps (m/f/d) 80-100% to help design and deliver our machine learning models. As a Machine Learning Engineer you are responsible for the deployment and automation of mathematical models on a large scale. Join our fast-paced team driving in an international environment. The position is a permanent role based in our city-centre office in Basel, Switzerland.

As Machine Learning Engineer, you will:

• Collaborate closely with other data scientists, data engineers and software engineers to develop end-to-end machine learning solutions
• Ensure the automation of code delivery, release cycle configuration and CI/ CD
• Design, build and document extendable REST APIs using Python Flask/ FastAPI
• Specify data science best practices to other engineers and embed expert knowledge into the platform
• Write automated unit, integration and functional tests for the features

Requirements:

• Master in computer science, statistics or science
• 2+ years professional experience in building and optimizing big data pipelines, architectures and data sets using Airflow or similar
• Real-world experience in applying MLOps and operating ML models in production
• Good programming skills in Python and SQL (other programming languages are a plus, e.g. R)
• Use MLOps tools to validate, deploy and monitor models using MLflow, Metaflow or similar
• Theoretical and technical knowledge of machine learning and deep learning models
• Basic understanding hyper-parameters and their optimization techniques
• Capability in defining cross-validation methods and ability to define evaluation criteria to judge the model in an asset
• Experience in the application and implementation of NLP and graph ML is beneficial
