Data Engineer - Financial Crime Analytics
We are looking for experienced data engineers to join our team. You will have a critical role in bringing a wide range of external data sets to bear on financial crime analytics. You will be working with structured and unstructured data; account and transactional data; internal and external databases; relational and other architectures. You will architect, design, and implement approaches for bringing second- and first-party data together to address financial compliance, investigative, and enforcement efforts. We are looking for data engineers who are experienced in data architecture and database design, ETL, data provisioning, query design and management of data engineering.

As a Data Engineer, you will develop, construct, test and maintain data architectures, align data architecture with business requirements, data acquisition, develop data set processes, use programming language and tools, and identify ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality.

About You
  • Experienced (3+ years) Data Engineer or related specialty (e.g., Software Engineer, Business Intelligence Engineer, Data Scientist) in Financial Institutions, Fintech, and/or Financial regulatory agencies, ideally with an understanding of payment ecosystems, standards, and issues.
  • Experience developing data structures and pipelines for business intelligence and analytics to extract value from large datasets using ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, PL/SQL, stored procedures, SQL performance tuning, etc.
  • Experience designing, developing and delivering high-quality, performant and scalable technical solutions for structured data.
  • Experience building batch applications using technologies like Java, Spring Batch, Python, and SQL
  • Experience delivering in a team Agile environment.
  • Proven strength in data modeling, data engineering, data architecture, database design and data provisioning.
  • Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases and data warehouse concepts, design and platforms.
  • Ability to communicate with all audiences about data architectures and implementation.
  • Bachelor's degree in quantitative or data intensive field or equivalent related work experience.
  • You do not require any type of sponsorship now or in the future. Unfortunately, this is not an option. Must be able to successfully pass a government background investigation and obtain a government public trust clearance.
  • We are flexible and open for remote candidates, and you are flexible to work and collaborate during core business hours Eastern standard time.

Preferred experience:

  • Experience with BI tools and stacks.
  • Experience with unstructured and graph data.
  • Experience with indexing and search technologies such as Elasticsearch or Solr.
  • Experience with programming in at least one modern programming language (Python, Java, .NET, etc.).
  • Active Public Trust clearance or above.
