Viking Netherlands has an exciting opportunity for a Sales Performance Data Analyst to join our European headquarters in Venlo, the Netherlands. The role is a permanent position offering an excellent benefits package.

Viking also offers a hybrid working solution in which you can work 3 to 4 days from the office and the remaining time from home.


Your role as a Sales Performance Data Analyst

Responsible for data and model preparation, analysis and insight generation, delivery, and advice to internal and external customers. To support the commercial process and attract new and valuable data sources, in order to meet and preferably go beyond the customer data, information or insight that is needed – especially in regards to the medium, large, and major customer clusters. To contribute to the continuous enhancement of Viking Coverage Model insight delivery capabilities.


  • Validate quality, consistency, accessibility, and structure of data, validate models and ensure preparation of data for machine learning algorithms for the medium, large and major customer clusters in closed collaboration with the Analytical CRM department as part of the overall marketing and customer contact strategy
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of data and reports by combining and interpreting external and internal quantitative and qualitative data, processes and development and by data mining for correlations, trends, outliers and probabilities
  • Discover ways in which business value can be added to the data, design customer interfaces for specific customer needs (in close collaboration with IT)
  • Visualize and model output and develop trusted information and true insights
  • Advise colleagues and management (pro-actively and on request) on data and insight analysis, data sources, commercial opportunities, market developments, and possibly insight on related delivery products and services and turn complex information and facts into clear findings that help take action or reach a decision
  • Analyze, define and set up a proper customer profile for the medium, larger, and major customer clusters within the Viking base.
  • Review the Viking customer base on a regular basis to ensure that the top performing Viking customers are assigned to the right program which fit into the defined selection criteria (incl. processed via ADR’s in SFDC)


What do you need to become successful in this role?

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 - 4 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge in SAS / SQL or any other relational database programming language
  • Deep knowledge in MS Office applications (Access/Excel)
  • Proficiency in COGNOS, SAS Enterprise Guide / VIYA, Power BI or any other Business Intelligence reporting tools
  • Excellent knowledge of English, spoken and written. Any other language skills such as; German, Dutch, and/or French, would be a distinct advantage ​
  • You have experience in optimizing work processes, driving results, and planning & aligning
  • Knowledge in data exchange processes
  • Able to work on own responsibility in a self-organized way of handling projects and tasks
