Inflection is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our data team and to support the continued development of our data pipeline - from acquisition of raw data, processing data with advanced distributed technologies, cleaning process and indexing automation, quality verification, to the delivery targeting a number of our applications.

We work with billions of records and terabytes of data and need someone who is comfortable at that scale and can design, build and maintain a high performance data pipeline. The ideal candidate has a track record of collaborating with data scientists and software engineers.

YOU LOVE DATA AND EMBRACE THE CHALLENGE OF BUILDING EFFICIENT DATA PIPELINES AT SCALE, AND WILL:

    • Solve problems with large amount of data using advanced data science and engineering technologies in support of trust and safety products for the sharing economy and on-demand marketplaces
    • Proactively contribute to product and technology initiatives, applying creativity, drive and vision
    • Explore and adopt new technologies to improve quality and performance of our data infrastructure
    • Communicate and collaborate effectively with other teams including product management, data scientists, software engineering and QA
    • Apply a practical and can-do approach to developing solutions in our fluid and fast-paced environment

YOU’VE GOT SKILL:

    • Strong experience in the design, implementation, deployment and automation of big data pipelines with billions of records and terabytes of data
    • Abundant experience in data engineering using distributed data processing technologies such as Spark and Hadoop
    • A track record programming data applications from scratch and integrate from other libraries with Python, Scala or Java
    • Ability to wrangle data with SQL; familiarity with tasks from optimizing queries with execution plans to adding data shards and partitions
    • Background working with large scale SQL and NoSQL data storesStrong working experience with AWS data stack (S3, EMR, ElasticSearch, DataPipline, Redshift, DynamoDB)
    • Experience working in Continuous Integration environment with Github, JIRA and tools such as Teamcity and Octopus
