Full Job Title: Interim Principal HR Data Analyst – Human Resources

Pay Rate: £22.79 per hour PAYE

The HR Quality and Service Assurance Team uses data collection and analysis to gain insight in to the effectiveness of the HR service and priorities of the wider organisation. This currently includes a number of high-profile priority workstreams for the Council, including the Future of Work, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and the Race Equality Action Group.

This role will be responsible to the HR Quality and Service Assurance Manager.

Key Duties

Manage the production of HR management information, to aid in the management of people and services within Greenwich, including the development of HR Dashboards.

Line manage the Apprentice HR Data Analyst.

Manage requests for information and questionnaires and provide statistical and information reports on Human Resources policies and practice.

Coordinate Freedom of Information requests on behalf of HR and prepare responses for approval.

Provide advice and support on data analysis to other HR teams, including Recruitment and Workforce Development.

Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data analysis systems.

Respond to queries relating to the functions of the team and wider HR service in a timely manner, including from senior management.

As appropriate, work with HR managers to undertake audits of HR work, ensuring performance standards are met.

Requirements

Qualified to degree level in a data field (e.g. Mathematics, Economics or Computer Science) or equivalent experience - desirable

Significant experience of working in an information or data management role

Experience of conducting research and benchmarking activities - desirable

Up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation, its legal implications and HR best practice - desirable

Specific Skills Required For This Role

Excellent analytical skills (including statistical/data interpretation) and ability to analyse, interpret and present trends or patterns in complex data sets

Ability to interrogate HR systems and reporting packages (e.g. Business Objects) to produce management reports and inform decision making

Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, ability to prioritise

Excellent written and oral communication skills, enabling presentation to HR and senior managers

ICT Skills

Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages

Advanced Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables, vlookup, formatting, charts)
