How to contribute to our vision
- Create models to forecast energy production for wind and other renewable energy units on a feasibility study level.
- Design and implementation of power forecasting solution from ingesting the required data sources to the creation of a power curve
- Collaborate with the in- & external development team to create optimization solutions for energy portfolios considering a variety of energy assets, consumption pattern, storage solutions and commercial energy products such as power purchase agreements.
What you need to make a difference
Passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change. We are also looking for…
- A Masters or a PhD degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or Computer Science
- Proven experience in renewable energy forecasting and relevant industry experience in a data science role with exposure to the entire data-science process (exploration, model design, validation, deployment, etc.)
- Proven experience in modelling time-series data, for instance using neural networks / deep learning and/or statistical methods
- A solid understanding of probability and statistics and above average programming skills, in particular proficiency in Python with an appreciation for correct, clean, well-structured, and maintainable code (flake8, black,…)
- Experience with data science libraries like TensorFlow / Keras, PyTorch, Pandas, sklearn, SciPy, as well as data visualization packages and other related tools
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Basic knowledge of optimization and control theory
- Experience working with Cloud based technologies (preferably AWS or Azure)
- Ability to interpret business stakeholders' requests and to translate them into well-defined data science problems, as well as to select and correctly apply the appropriate methodologies
- Hands-on and problem-solving attitude and ppenness to work in a multidisciplinary, diverse team
- Big picture thinking, learning capacity, ability to cope with uncertainty and high aspirations
- Readiness to travel occasionally and to work in a multi-national-cultural environment
