Veolia Australia & New Zealand (Veolia) has an exciting opportunity for a Data Scientist to join our Water Operations team based in our regional office in Melbourne. Reporting to the Project manager you will ensure the quality of the data we provide to our clients to help keep Australians safe. The role will be involved in multiple projects and support related testing across custom built applications.

About The Role

Reporting to the Digital Services Manager you will be responsible for implementing and improving artificial intelligence models to improve operations of treatment plants and networks. You will need a qualification in Data Science (machine learning and deep learning) and a strong understanding of statistics.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

• 
  Assess the technical performance of technologies of third party companies/startups with the objective to build strategic-partnerships
• Participate in major tenders, for example by providing detailed data analysis to show-case Veolia capacity in data analytics/AI.
• Import collected data (including data formatting, cleansing, etc.), and analyse that imported data.
• Accountable for code production, including constant maintenance of the code (object-oriented), including re-factoring when necessary.
• Undertake other duties in accordance with Veolia policy and procedure, as directed by the General Manager Strategy.
  

You Will Need

• 
  Qualification in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence;
• 1-2 years of experience of data scientist is preferable
• Strong knowledge of statistics;
• Demonstrated knowledge of python language;
• Open Class C drivers licence (preferable)
