Reliability Data Analyst

• Description:* The distribution reliability group is looking for an analyst to help with data reporting. Would primarily help with reviewing outage tickets, building power points, and managing spreadsheets. The Analyst will be responsible for reviewing outage tickets, reporting, and updating metrics for the distribution system service reliability. The successful candidate should have experience in analyzing reliability data, calculating distribution metrics, and the ability to review outage tickets to find discrepancies.
• MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: *
• Create monthly and ad-hoc reliability reports for leadership to review current and past system metrics.
• Investigate, analyze, and resolve discrepancies in outage tickets on the distribution system.
• Investigate any data and reporting issues that may affect reliability indices.
• Preparing reports for management stating trends for the distribution system.
• Review weather events to find out if a specific timeframe can be excluded from metrics.
• JOB REQUIREMENTS: *
• 5+ years of data analyst experience (Within Utilities is a plus)
• A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related analyst experience
• Experience working with a team to gain information to help resolve discrepancies on outage tickets.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, EXCEL, PowerPoint, etc…)
• Experience working with either SQL or Python
• Understanding of distribution devices (Breakers, Reclosers, TripSavers, etc…) and how they operate is a plus.
• Proven experience creating charts, graphs and pivot tables to simplify large amounts of data.
• High-level experience in methodologies and processes for managing large-scale data.
• KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:*
• Excellent knowledge of how reliability indices (SAIFI, SAIDI, CAIDI, and etc…) are calculated.
• Ability to visualize, analyze, and interpret complex scenarios on the distribution system.
• Knowledge and ability to provide reporting recommendations and implement action plans to resolve data discrepancies.
• Ability to handle ad-hoc reporting request and switch priorities upon when needed.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills to explain complex data.
• Serve as technical expert to ensure quality and accuracy of reliability data.
• Ability to scrub and prepare data.
• Strong mathematical skills to help collect, measure, organize and analyze data.
