Come join the Business Insights division of the UHC Operations Analytics team whose mission is simple and audacious – make the healthcare system better for everyone by driving action with data and analytics. In our team, we are guided by the desire to mature our solutions to be more descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive in nature, while at the same time build the relationships needed to be a trusted advisor, working hand in hand with our business partners. Within this team you will be focused on Managed Metrics solutions – making sure we provide accurate and timely reporting and analytics to guide our Operations leaders and executives.

If you are located in Central Time Zone (CST), you will have the flexibility to telecommute* as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with a team of analysts to support executive facing metrics products and insights
  • Demonstrate an understanding of data modeling (relationships, data types, tables, etc.) and analytics concepts (queries, reporting, association of data sources)
  • Help drive increased use and reuse of virtualized data sets, driving reduction in data storage and replication
  • Demonstrate ability to integrate multiple data sources to simplify reporting processes
  • Assist business and systems analysts with business dimension, hierarchies and data integration of cross-functional, cross-enterprise metrics management
  • Use your operational and analytical skills to design, develop, maintain and publish Tableau solutions
  • Maintain a high-level of data quality awareness which includes working proactively on identifying and improving data quality in order to address reporting gaps
  • Lead initiatives to architect and design metrics management infrastructure and ETL/ELT (extract, transform and load) solutions and maintain existing jobs using technologies such as SQL, Alteryx, Azure Databricks, ADF, Snowflake
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, optimize performance and scalability of existing solutions
  • Demonstrate solid analytical and critical thinking aptitude with problem-solving skills
  • Build rapport with clients with superior executive presence enabled with solid written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Seek opportunities to improve the team, work product and services
  • Demonstrate commitment to high quality results through effective use of time, resources and work effort.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of Data Technology Experience (SQL Server, Snowflake, etc.), or equivalent experience working with data modeling, quality, processing and reporting
  • 1+ years of experience Capturing Requirements, Documenting System/Process Changes, and/or Design/Thinking Experience
  • 1+ years of experience with BI Tools (Tableau, Power Bi or Equivalent)
  • Experience in prioritizing work on multiple complex assignments within an Agile Scrum framework

Preferred Qualifcations:

  • Healthcare data experience (experience with claims, clinical or call systems)
  • Experience with ETL tools such as Alteryx, Spark Thrift, ADF
  • Experience with Big Data/Cloud data warehouse technologies (Hadoop, MAPR Hive, Spark/Snowflake)
  • Experience designing, monitoring and interpreting performance metrics
  • Fortune 50 Experience
  • Ability to approach issues from broad strategic perspective while also sustaining attention to detail
  • Solid verbal, written and interpersonal skills and ability to interact collaboratively with internal customers across multiple departments and business segments
  • Curiosity, creativity and out of the box thinking to create innovative solutions
  • Sound data analysis skills and insatiable curiosity
