Job Description

My Dublin based Financial Services client is looking for a Data Scientist to join the Analytics team on a contract basis.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Solve data-related problems within the team and implement efficient data pipelines
  • Automate and industrialise repetitive data integration steps, pre-cleaning data used by data scientists to prepare and apply machine learning models.
  • Interact closely with data scientist to design and implement data-driven solutions
-Work closely with the business to understand their problems and operational needs. Gathering, interpreting and prioritising their requirements
  • Contribute in company data transformation and technological transformation.
-Work closely with IT to identify, collect, explore and understand the data required to meet business needs.
  • Maintain data pipelines, measuring performance and ensuring good data quality in place by implementing adequate monitoring.

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Proficient in SQL development and dealing with relational databases.
  • Degree+ in Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics or Computer Sciences.
  • Experience working in an agile environment desired
  • End to end project lifecycle experience from concept to delivery and support.
  • Good understanding of machine learning models and data science process (feature engineering, modelling, etc.) is a strong plus.
  • Able to apply analytical problem solving, make recommendations, and implement improvements continuously in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience using API’s is a plus
  • Knowledge of R or Python is a plus
  • Team worker with responsibility & accountability for their own work.
  • Experience extracting data from unstructured data sources (text, images, audio) is a plus
  • Autonomous, innovative, pragmatic
  • Detailed oriented, problem-solver and solution focused with proven ability to deliver, prioritising and organising work load.
  • 4+ years development experience in Data Engineering, Big Data, Data science or ETL.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audience
  • Demonstrate a continuous appetite for learning new techniques, languages or tools.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
  • Ability to work with transactional data coming from multiple integrated systems (Data warehouse, Legacy systems, CRM system, third party operational systems, Api’s ..)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Writes quality and reusable code using software development process and version control.
