What We’re Looking For
Our team is responsible for development and support of The Standard’s constantly evolving Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) that is deployed on Azure.
Thought the focus of this role is on data modeling expertise, all of our data engineers are expected to be active participants in developing and improving our DataOps processes.
Our DataOps framework utilizes Azure DevOps and trunk-based development practices utilizing PowerShell, Pester, Python, PyTest and related technologies to achieve continuous integration, deployment and testing to manage Azure platform resources such as Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Function Apps, Apache Spark, Databricks, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL and related resources such as Integration Runtimes, Azure Key Vault, Azure Log Analytics utilizing Kusto.
This role will be critical to our success and must bring broad and extensive background in data modeling with traditional RDBMS architecture, canonical, relational, and tabular modeling coupled with cloud based file and database processing techniques. Modeling will require developing robust ELT processes, sourcing from a broad set of disparate data sources and applying data integration patterns as fit-for-purpose and aligned with business needs and architectural guidelines.
What You’ll Bring
You thrive in a collaborative team environment with direct interactions with our internal business partners.
7+ years of data modeling experience
5+ years of senior level data engineering experience.
3+ years of DataOps experience or related software development utilizing DevOps development practices and tooling.
Hadoop/ Databricks and Spark experience a significant plus
3+ years working within Agile or related development teams. SAFe experience a plus
The more years of experience with our listed tool sets the better.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to switch contexts between highly technical and business-focused topics.
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Information Systems or similar technical field of study.
