The Team
Oversees Finance Data Management & Data Services within Global Finance & Risk Technology (GFRT) provides analytics and support services for Global Finance Initiatives. The Finance Data Management Data Services team supports Financial Close Processes and provide Financial Data Management, Data Analysis, Data Quality and Data Governance services for Toronto/Canada. The team is heavily involved in business transformation projects and equivalency testing during migrations.
The Role
As a Data Engineer you are required to participate in multiple finance transformation projects, liaise with stakeholders on new business initiatives, delivering solutions to meet the needs of multiple lines of business, and interfaces extensively with business clients. The incumbent will have a minimum of 2 to 3 years of strong expertise querying data from ledgers, data models, database design and an understanding of the Bank's financial data. The individual must thrive on challenge, be proactive, and demonstrate initiative, coaching the data engineers and eagerness to learn.
Some of the key accountabilities include:
- Work with senior team members (architects, developers, testers) to develop and implement data solutions for finance reporting systems
- Analyze data in both Financial Systems and Big Data environments
- Support senior team members through research assignments and proof of concepts
- Demonstrate a passion for problem solving and data presentation technologies
- Facilitate UAT testing for system migration and new initiatives
- Report development and support for internal customers; including executives analytical minded skillset
- Provide analytical support to company leadership by providing ad-hoc analysis and data trouble shooting support
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

What You Will Bring to Succeed
- Advanced level SQL design / reporting / data mining experience or familiar with using ACL
- CPA/CA or Accounting/finance knowledge with computer science/data sciences certification is preferred.
- Data Modeling experience with Agile methodology and familiar with scrum meetings and sprint planning.
- Analytical and Detail-oriented
- Report development and support for internal and external customers; including executives analytical minded skillset.
