Data Analyst (PAES)

Job description

BRMi Technology is seeking a Data Analyst (PAES) to support the Information System Division and the enterprise by providing comprehensive data analysis solutions to support engineering solutions to translate Navy Federal's business vision and strategies into effective IT and business capabilities through the design, implementation, and integration of IT systems using the legacy data systems and Azure. The Data Analyst will be responsible for performing data analysis and supporting the evolution, development, and governance of Navy Federal’s Data with a specific focus on migrating legacy data to the Azure Data Lake.

  • Experience in documenting source data requirements and providing mappings between business terms, source system tables/columns, and logical data models, including derivation rules and transformations as data specifications
  • Experience in conducting analysis of data contained in source systems and its suitability and inclusion in cloud data platforms via data profiling and mapping documents, considering data completeness, granularity, volume, latency, consistency and location details
  • Advanced SQL query programming skills
  • Proficient in understanding data ingestion pipeline processes, including exception handling, and metadata management across legacy and cloud-based systems
  • Experience in supporting data migration efforts of both structured and unstructured data from existing systems to an on prem data lake and/or cloud data platform
  • Experience in statistical analysis
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in data management solutions using Hadoop platform tools and technologies such as Apache HDFS, Sqoop, Spark, Hive, Impala, HBase, Kafka, as well as Python, Java, or Scala
  • Experience using Jupyter or Zepplin Notebooks
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory and Data Bricks
  • Experience in UNIX shell scripting
  • Advanced degree in MIS, computer science, statistics, marketing, management, finance or related field
  • Ability to interpret and update complex technical documentation
  • Prior experience in the Financial Industries and large banks
