As a Lead Data Engineer, you are an innovative thinker with a can-do attitude. You will work with teams across the company to leverage technologies that support our backend applications. Your work can include new features, enhancements, and resolving defects for web, mobile, and IoT solutions. Those things are important because our products impact people's lives. Every day, you'll be coding and asking questions that clarify scalability and user challenges. You will be part of an Agile environment working with a team of talented engineers, product owners, and stakeholders continually developing, deploying, and testing application software. To thrive in this coding career, you must know how to create functional, maintainable, and scalable code in an object-oriented fashion. You should be efficient and knowledgeable in Java, working alongside a team of coders in various project roles. You should also know how to use Spring Boot and have database experience. Our best backend developers are passionate creators and proactive problem solvers who stay current on new technologies. They're always looking for new ways to make tools better for our users. WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in analysis and design of data architecture and pipelines.
- Work closely with Engineering, Product, UX and Marketing teams.
- Advocate software design standards and implement them.
- Identify, design and implement processes to build a self-serve data platform for Wisely.
- Implement data validation techniques to ensure data accuracy and governance.
- Identify and drive technical vision for Data Analytics.
- Research and delve into various flows of Product and document them as needed.
- Teach and mentor junior members on the team.
- Create broader impact beyond the team.
- Manage on-call rotation schedules and incident management.
Basic Qualifications:
- Strong programming skills with 8+ years of experience in Python or Java.
- Strong system design skills and deep understanding of software systems.
- Strong database experience and hands-on experience with SQL performance and troubleshooting.
- Experience working with Big Data frameworks like Apache Spark.
- Scheduling framework – Airflow.
- Experience with AWS data stack – Lambda, S3, Kinesis, SQS, Redshift, EMR.
- Used AWS technologies in Production at scale.
- Good grasp of security fundamentals and PCI compliance.
- Excellent communication skills and attitude to learn and share.

The targeted base salary range for this role is listed in the compensation section below. Actual salary may be above or below this range based on factors such as location, skills, and relevant experience. In addition, this position may include additional compensation in the form of bonus, equity, or commissions.

Compensation range for US Nevada Residents is $84,700 to $128,725
