Job Description Summary
A data expert with serious analytical and statistical chops. You know how to take massive amounts of data and find the insights supply chain teams need to help their respective functions to do more.
Critical thinker who enjoys data analytics, creativity, naturally curious, and is a problem solver utilizing database and analytical skills. High growth company building analytics function - requires flexibility, holistic thinking, time prioritization, execution of rapid transformations, and capability of effectively influence. Responsible for complex cross functional programs to successful and timely decision points supporting world class supply chain operations.
Accountable for moving analytics to strategy within a program or model working with business partners. Valued candidates have a breadth of work experience or educational coursework to ensure highest level of partnership and capability to understand business requirements and anticipating solutions.
Responsibilities
Implements solutions to problems using data analysis, data mining, optimization tools and machine learning techniques and statistics
Build data-science and technology based algorithmic solutions to address business needs
Design large scale models using Logistic Regression, Linear Models Family, Conjoint Analysis, Spatial models, Time-series models, Text mining
Drive the collection of new data and the refinement of existing data sources
Analyze and interpret the results of analytics experiments
Applies a global approach to analytical solutions-both within a business area and across the enterprise
Ability to use data for Exploratory, descriptive, Inferential, Prescriptive, and Advanced Analytics
Ability to share dashboards, reports, and Analytical insights from data
Experience of having done visualization on large datasets – Preferred – added advantage
Technical Knowledge and Skills required
Experience solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches
Passion for empirical research and for answering hard questions with data
Ability to manipulate and analyze complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources
Ability to apply a flexible analytic approach that allows for results at varying levels of precision
Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner
Expert knowledge of an analysis tool such as R, Python, Matlab, or SAS
Experience working with large data sets, experience working with distributed computing tools a plus (Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, etc.)
Familiarity with relational databases and SQL
Soft Skills Required
Good communication and presentation skills
Highly driven, energetic, flexible, resourceful & ability to multitask
Adherence to timelines, without sacrificing quality of output
Hands on and detail oriented, with a strong ability to co-ordinate across different Geographies and with different stakeholders at Exec and Director levels
Work Experience
Experience in Data science/Analytics/Statistician roles
Can be from e-Commerce companies like Amazon, Flipkart etc.
Academics
Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline, e.g., Math, Statistics, Physics, Operations Research, Economics, Econometrics
MBA /BTech-BE from IIT/NITs or Tier 1 engineering schools only, , MS Analytics from Tier 1 schools
Strong exposure to Statistics – Predictive Analytics – Mandatory
