The role of Advanced Analytics within Admiral is ever-expanding and as the team grows to support business demand we need to introduce new roles into the structure. This is an exciting time to get involved with a growing area that makes a real difference to the bottom line.
The Role
Lead Data Scientist is a role for our most experienced and adept data scientists. You will be given some of our most difficult problems to work on. These problems could range from structured data problems through to image recognition.
The Lead Data Scientist will spend a large proportion of their time modelling and solving business problems but they also have a responsibility to develop the wider team. This will take the form of structured training as well as peer reviews and technical sign-off of models.
This role will sit within Risk Analytics and the responsibilities described above will cover all projects within this function.
About You
We are looking for a highly skilled technical person that loves to take responsibility for the latest project and is happy to read, research, and train on whatever is thrown at them. This could include problems on unstructured data, anomaly detection, image recognition, etc.
You will have a passion for data science and will be eager to drive forward the use of machine learning and advanced analytics. You will be business focussed, understand the accuracy vs time and value trade-off and have a track record of delivering valuable models to the business.
You should be comfortable in a culture where decision-making is evidence-based and reliant on rigorous audits.

Due to Covid, we are working remotely. We will provide you with everything you need to work comfortably from home. However, once it is safe to return to the office, we will have days when the whole team comes together to collaborate. You can decide if you want to come to the office between 2-5 days per week.
