About Asset Management

HSBC Asset Management, is the asset management division of the HSBC Group. HSBC Asset Management develops and manages investment management products and services for clients around the world, from individual retail customers to major multinational corporate clients, sovereign wealth funds and financial institution clients.

About the role:

Data and Analytics Professionals at HSBC have responsibility for executing our HSBC Data Strategy. Their responsibilities are threefold:

  • Recognising data as an asset to HSBC by managing Data Risk and ensuring we are compliant with our Data standards and policies;
  • Using analytics and data science to unlock the value of our data; and
  • Implementing and maintaining our Data Technologies.

Data and Analytics Professionals are geographically dispersed and aligned to the Global Businesses / Global Functions or regions.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage and deliver Data Management services to the Global Business of Asset Management and local business in Canada (“the business”)
  • Manage and support the business with technical capabilities to analyze, edit and report on the management of data
  • Manage and support master and meta-data used by the business to ensure that data is used consistently
  • Support the business in the design and delivery of technical solutions compliant with data management requirements
  • Good team player and capable of working with global and local functional team members in different time zones
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with other business units and teams locally and globally
  • Good knowledge of data analytics, data visualization and good data literacy
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience managing data in investment management or other related industries.
  • Undergraduate degree in finance, statistics, computing science or other related qualitative disciplines.
  • Completion of CSC or other equivalent courses on investment industry.
  • Good team player who can work with global and local functional team members in different time zones and who can foster and maintaining good relationships.
  • Detail oriented and able to prioritise multiple projects and/or tasks.
  • Good analytical skills with advanced MS suite and SQL. Data analytics, data visualization or other equivalent training would be beneficial
