Data Engineer | Manager

Our data analytics team focuses on helping our clients unlock value from their information assets through collaboration with domain experts across assurance, tax, transactions and advisory to embed innovative data analytics solutions in existing services lines.
In response to strong market demand, we are seeking additional individuals to enhance our existing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the data analytics team who are changing how we deliver services to our clients.
Role Description:
Helping clients unlock value from their information assets through collaboration with domain experts across assurance, tax, transactions and advisory to embed innovative data analytics solutions in existing services lines through
- Statistical analysis and modelling tools such as SAS, SPSS, R or similar packages, data manipulation languages such as SQL.
- Data visualization software such as tableau, qlikview or spotfire
- Applying predictive modelling techniques to key business issues faced by our clients that can transform and improve their entire organisation.
- Leading a team with responsibility for a robust set of tools and infrastructure to sanitize, store and manipulate data (following leading standards for data security and privacy).
- Drawing on your knowledge and experience, you’ll create innovative commercial insights for clients, adapt methods and practices to fit operational, team and cultural needs, and contribute to thought leadership
- Working in multi-disciplinary teams across a range of industries helping our clients, using our analytics to transform and improve their business
- Actively establish, maintain and strengthen internal and external relationships
- With guidance from partners, directors and senior managers, you’ll identify and act on potential business opportunities for EY
What we look for?
Data engineering experience including building data pipelines, data infrastructure design, algorithm development and implementing cloud-based and on-prem data solutions.- Experience with tools like SQL, Python, MS Azure, Snowflake, etc and strong understanding of data modelling, data quality, modelling, optimisation, data architecture and ETL processes
- Experience of deployment and configuration of DevOps pipelines, code repositories, automated testing etc
- Demonstrated strength in data modelling, ETL development, and data warehousing/lakes
- 7+ years of consulting or other relevant industry experience
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and develop others, managing projects, budgets, scope creep, expectations, deliverables, timelines, etc.
- Strong academic record including a degree /MSc/PhD in either: Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Science / Engineering.
- Ability to communicate technical information in non-technical language
- Continuously builds and masters key technical, functional, and professional skills
- A passion to contribute to the growth of the team
- Analytically minded and can assimilate and apply new techniques and knowledge quickly to deliver insights and solve problems
- Highly professional with ability to work in challenging, diverse, and evolving client environments
Ideally, you’ll also have
Experience of working with Azure AD, Office 365, Azure Data Factory or other cloud hosted platforms.- Relevant industry certification.
- Hands-on experience with cloud services, e.g., Azure Databricks, IBM Public Cloud, Google Cloud, AWS
- Hands-on experience in working with Agile methods for software delivery e.g. Scrum, SAFE, Kanban, Lean, TDD and CI/CD.
- Understanding of Cloud Native Platforms including Kubernetes, Open Shift, Docker Enterprise
- Experience with Microservices, Functions, Event-driven/reactive programming or other Cloud Native architectures
- Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Workflow management using Agile collaboration tools from main vendors
- Excellent presentation skills.
