About Our Client
We are currently working with multiple clients across the industry for both permanent and contract opportunities. The organisations range from the Victorian State Government to Private Health Insurance.
Job Description
Typically the roles and responsibilities will be:
- Develop, construct, test and maintain architectures
- Prepare data for predictive and prescriptive modelling
- Assembling large, complex sets of data that meet non-functional and functional business requirement
- Identifying, designing and implementing internal process improvements including re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, optimizing data delivery, and automating manual processes
The Successful Applicant
The Successful Candidate should have a demonstrated understanding and experience using software and tools including:
- Big data tools like Kafka, Spark and Hadoop
- Relational NoSQL and SQL databases including Cassndra and Pastgres
- Workflow management and pipeline tools such as Airflow, Luigi and Azkaban
- Object function/object-oriented scripting languages including Scala, C++, Java and Python.
- Knowledge of cloud-based technology stacks (Azure SQL database, Azure Data Factory, Key Vault, Azure Files, Azure Blob Containers, Azure VMs)
- Strong understanding of and adherence to data engineering best practices and re-factoring techniques.
