Job Title: Data Analyst II

Job Summary:

The position is accountable for translating business strategies into IT requirements for Alaska Digital Technology team and for advocacy of the IT policies, strategies, processes and practices. The analyst's success depends on the ability to build strong team relationships and knowledge coupled with a broad understanding of IT infrastructure technology and a desire to learn, problem-solve, and try new things.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Developing effective working relationship with the Alaska business unit, business capabilities, and core digital technologies organizations.
• Managing IT service level expectations for the business unit
• Translating business and capabilities needs into IT requirements, and ultimately into actionable IT projects and services
• Identifying and defining opportunities with business capabilities teams and related core digital technology systems and services; and actively initiating improvements to the processes and systems
• Assist in completing FEL business case development, coordinating funding approval for IT project opportunities, and leading projects where appropriate
• Managing the demand management process for projects and enhanced service requests
• Providing input to the budgeting process and obtaining alignment
• Working with the business unit and capabilities teams to assist in implementing organizational change
• Demonstrating a commitment to ongoing safe work practices

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or related Information Technology field • Ability to work collaboratively with others and maintain strong working relationships with local and corporate capabilities teams and external companies • Ability to effectively write proposals and present options to technical as well as management groups • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects and priorities • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and demonstrated ability to influence • Able to work independently; self-motivated with approach to work as if responsibilities extend beyond immediate job description • Ability to handle difficult situations constructively and tactfully
  

Minimum Qualifications:

• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular full- time basis without restrictions.
• Intermediate knowledge of IT infrastructure and information systems implementation concepts and design
• 3+ years of IT related experience
