Description:Perform exploratory research and analysis to identify novel and meaningful patterns in data and uses statistical methods to reject or accept proposed hypotheses about relationships or latent predictive factors discovered through their work to provide business value. Uses a combination of tools, technologies, and numerical computing systems (i.e.: GPU processing, distributed computing, highly parallel coding, cloud computing, machine learning, visualization, system modelling and simulation) to achieve results. Areas of expertise should include several of the following: applied statistics, text mining, natural language processing, deep learning, optimization, and other similar fields. Work on datasets with applied statistics and machine learning algorithms; Use exploratory data analysis techniques to identify meaningful relationships, patterns, or trends from complex data sets and discover opportunities in datasets to support decision-making; Develop predictive models and new algorithms to solve data / business problems; Understand the math and statistics behind the models and interpret, extrapolate, and prescribe from data to deliver actionable recommendations using effective visualizations
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline.
Experience with databases and SQL queries.
Experience using statistics to solve data and business problems.
Experience with data visualization using industry standard tools (Tableau).
Experience demonstrating to stakeholders how analytics can be implemented to maximize business benefits; provide strategic consulting, needs assessment, and scoping of project.
Must have strong problem-solving skills and business acumen.
Experience with Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) data integration process.
Desired Skills:
Excellent communication (written and verbal), time management, presentation and organizational skills
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite
Knowledge of data visualization tools is preferred but not required
Intermediate knowledge of SQL, and data warehousing technologies
Ability to work in a team as well as independently
Ability to work in a high-paced, multi-task environment with attention to detail
High level of quantitative and qualitative research, analytical skills and critical thinking skills
Must be willing to travel as needed, hardworking, eager to learn, and motivated to succeed.
Experience partnering with stakeholders and peers (e.g. data scientist, data engineers) to identify and solve a business problem.
Experience with common data analysis/BI tooling (such as SAP HANA, etc.).
Experience with management of small projects.
Experience with data management principles and practices, including but not limited to data governance, master data management, and data quality.
Experience harmonizing systems, processes, and/or data across functions.
Strong facilitation skills with the ability to drive issues to closure.
Experience documenting technical solutions in support of standards and best practices.
Experience working with virtual teams.
Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.
