Position Overview

As a Full Stack Data Engineer you will traverse the entire data stack from device agents to cloud processing to data analytics and visualization. You will work directly with mid to senior engineers to develop new features and troubleshoot issues in different parts of the stack. While your project will remain the same, the role you play, the technologies you leverage, and the languages you use will change over time. You will be a member of a small SCRUM team developing data solutions for autonomous construction and agriculture equipment. The data you deal with will be dynamic in nature and covers a spectrum of access patterns from record based samples, to near real time streaming, to massive file uploads.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and troubleshoot on machine C++ data collection agents running in a ROS based environment

  • Develop and troubleshoot AWS cloud services used to ingest, transform, and store data

  • Consume cloud based API endpoint to analyze and visualize data from real machine in a production environment using tools such as Python and Pandas

  • Perform code reviews

  • Participate in collaborative design review sessions

  • Run unit and system level testing to verify code changes

  • Interact with other engineering teams and stakeholder to understand data needs and testing solution in live construction and farm environments

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors of sciences in Computer Science, Data Science, Computer engineering or related field

  • Proficient in Java, Python, and Node.js

  • Proficient with Linux command line and associated utilities

  • Experience in C / C++

  • Experience using Git

  • Basic understanding of AWS cloud concepts such as S3, EC2, Lambda, IAM, and Kafka

  • Basic understanding of relational and time series databases

  • Basic understanding of Docker

  • SQL

It Would Be Great To Know

  • Atlassian tool chain

  • Pandas

  • ROS (Robotic Operating System)

  • IoT protocols such as MQTT or DDS

  • Statistical methods used in data science

  • AI and ML as it related to computer vision and LiDar point clouds

  • Robotics

  • IP and Wireless networking
