Data Engineering Manager

About the role

Reporting to our Head of Data Engineering and with 8 direct reports, this role will see you running data design forums, provide mentoring and coaching to your team, have regular one on ones and assist with career development goals and grow cloud skills in the team. As we start our cloud journey for the data warehouse and analytics environments, this is a great opportunity for you to come in and influence from the very beginning.

You’ll be working closely with our partners as we transition our warehouse and analytics environment to the Cloud. You will provide assistance to your teams who are working on projects within the various hubs around ME. It’s a fantastic role with lots of opportunity where you can combine your strong data engineer and people leadership skills, so if this sounds like you, we’d love to see your application.

About you

Having led a team or teams before, you have an understanding what it takes to be a successful leader, you’re someone who doesn’t shy away from difficult conversations and always like to lead by example. You are a true team player, easy to get along with and enjoy working with others and being part of a team that operate like a well-oiled machine.

Technically, you are highly skilled with hands on cloud experience on AWS, and if you’ve had exposure around data modelling, that’s an added plus. We are also looking for someone who’s worked in an environment that’s used large volumes of data, and if you have expertise in using our current software, Microsoft APS, that would really help your application stand out.
