What you'll do...

The Walmart Global Tech International Data Science Team is seeking a highly motivated Data Scientist for the Sunnyvale, CA-based role to join the team, and be part of Search and Personalization development efforts in the Digital Experience domain.

The Walmart Global Tech International Data Science Team is seeking a highly motivated Data Scientist for the Sunnyvale, CA-based role to join the team, and be part of Search and Personalization development efforts in the Digital Experience domain.

What You Will Do:

  • Improve the performance of recommendation systems and search engines for e-commerce

  • Design, build and iterate on data models

  • Implement state-of-the-art techniques in Machine Learning, Deep Learning and Information Retrieval

  • Develop end-to-end ownership of major customer facing technologies and products

  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders in Engineering and Product to deliver new features

  • Write highly efficient code for superior model performance, and A/B test new ML models and algorithms related to Search and Recommendation


You Are Ideal If You:

  • Have a keen interest and experience in one or more of the following areas: Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, and Information Retrieval

  • Have a relevant technical degree (preferably advanced, in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, etc.)

  • Have 2+ years field experience in building and evaluating machine learning and deep learning models

  • Have 2+ years field experience putting machine learning models into production

  • Have 2+ years field experience using opensource frameworks (e.g.: scikit learn, tensorflow, keras, pytorch, etc.)

  • Fluent in Python

  • MS Or PHD without prior industry experience are given consideration

Option 1: Bachelors degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 2 years' experience in an analytics or related field. Option 2: Masters degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field. Option 3: 4 years' experience in an analytics or related field.
As permitted by applicable law, provide evidence of full vaccination as defined by CDC guidelines OR secure approval of medical or religious accommodation for the vaccination mandate.
