Data Engineer


Your responsibilities will be

  • Employing and developing advanced analytics and statistical methods with the corresponding codes to prepare, analyze data and build models for predictive modeling
  • Translating metrics and prototypes that can be used to drive business decisions at scale
  • Ongoing maintenance of (statistical) models; monitoring, optimizing and extending of statistical models at scale
  • Collaboration with Oerlikon business departments counterparts advising and supporting the design of data science applications
  • Preparing reports and presentations for relevant stakeholders that will give insights for departments as well as business wide decision making


Your Profile

  • BSc or MSc in computer science/mathematics/engineering or similar
  • Experience with established data manipulation and data science languages (SQL and Python)
  • General software development skills (source code management, debugging, testing, deployment, etc.)
  • Strong experience in data modeling, data management and data querying (DWH, SQL/noSQL)
  • Proficiency in either Python, C#, Java or Scala as well as Git
  • Setting up ETL pipelines (python, spark) in a cloud infrastructure (AWS)
  • Experience in Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery und Infrastructure as Code
  • Familiar with data infrastructure and data governance
  • Experience in project management is a plus including the ability to communicate with various internal and external partners
  • Capability to solve complex tasks in a dynamic and challenging environment
  • GitHub projects demonstrating your creative drive
  • Self-motivated & -organized, ambitious and achievement driven
  • Excellent language skills in English, German beneficial
