Our team is developing an AI-first product to support Corebridge Financial’s Investments department make commercial real estate investment decisions. This is mainly achieved through the incubation of disruptive innovation via scientists, engineers and designers working together. The resulting solution optimize the investment process by embracing innovation and integrating advanced methods and technologies currently disrupting our industry, such as AI, digital transformation, and alternative data, to improve investment decision making, performance, and risk management.

As a critical role in our success, we are looking to hire an experienced data engineer to develop our data pipelines and support the commercialization of the product


What You Need To Know


  • Architect and build distributed, scalable, and reliable data pipelines to ingest and process data
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and scientists to support machine learning and product features
  • On-board, document and curate external datasets for internal usage
  • Engage in data interpretation, forensic data analysis, and troubleshooting


What We’re Looking For


  • Self-motivated and creative
  • Good communicator and team player
  • Solid understanding of algorithms and data structures
  • Commercial software development experience, using version control (Git) and unit testing
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Amazon Web Services)
  • Commercial experience of writing and optimizing SQL queries
  • Experience of data orchestration platforms (e.g., Airflow, Prefect, Dagster)


An ideal candidate (is not required to, but) will also have


  • Experience in feature engineering for Machine Learning applications
  • Experience working within an agile team
  • Familiarity with continuous deployment
  • Knowledge of data versioning libraries/ methods (e.g., DVC)
  • Experience of cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake)
  • Experience of dynamic schemas/schemas evolution
  • Experience ingesting data from web (e.g., HTTP requests, HTML/ XML parsing)
  • Experience of load testing data pipelines
  • Experience of geo-indexing technologies (e.g., PostGIS)
  • Knowledge of columnar data storage formats (e.g., Parquet, ORC)
  • Familiarity with migrations frameworks for change management (e.g., Flyway, Alembic)
  • Experience building streaming pipelines (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis)
  • Familiarity with Big Data ecosystem (e.g., Spark/ MapReduce)
